Counseling
While my orientation is integrative and I customize my treatment based on individual client needs, my interest in psychology and counseling has always been focused on a systemic and holistic view of work and life. We continue to spend the majority of our time working and interpersonal issues that arise at work are likely to arise at home, and vice versa. My work is intended to shed light on patterns in your life and finding ways to apply desired change across all the different lives you lead.
Specifically, I use a combination of insight-oriented psychodynamic exploration and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for more targeted, goal-oriented work. I also integrate various other therapies and techniques, including Motivational Interviewing, narrative therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also work with children, adolescents, couples and families.

Coaching
Coaching differs from counseling in several important ways. Most importantly, therapy is regulated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and therapists must be registered to provide counseling. Coaching, on the other hand, is less regulated and coaches have a wider variety of autonomy regarding their approach. Therapists are also trained to recognize and diagnose mental health disorders while coaches are not required to and cannot ethically treat clients for mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression. This can create potential issues because untrained coaches may not be able to recognize when a client should be referred to a therapist when they have deeper issues that need to be treated.
I offer coaching because I am interested in helping high-pressure professionals, who often have specific obstacles they want to overcome but do not need to be treated for mental health disorders. In addition, because I am also trained as a therapist, I am able to recognize when a client should be referred for therapy treatment so I am confident my clients will be treated in accordance to the highest ethical standards.

Consulting
My initial interest in psychology was driven by a desire to improve the professional environment from a systems and organizational point of view. To that end, I studied industrial organizational psychology in addition to counseling psychology so that I can apply psychological assessment and interventions at every level of an organization to create change on all levels, from leadership to human resources, from hiring practices to mentorship, from compensation to internal motivations, and everything in between. Changes in any one area of your organization will impact various other areas and I provide a holistic approach so that we can better anticipate and control desired outcomes.
I am happy to work with your business to determine what kinds of services are best suited for your specific needs. Whether you have specific services in mind or prefer a customized assessment, we can discuss the following options:
- Executive coaching
- New hire trainings
- Mentorship and sponsorship program development
- Communication workshops
- Well-being seminars
- Customized team-building workshops
- Conflict mediation
